Fire Suppression Systems

Gaseous fire suppression is a term to describe the use of inert gases and chemical agents to extinguish a fire. Also called clean agent fire suppression. These Agents are governed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard for Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems – NFPA 2001 in the USA, with different standards and regulations in other parts of the world.

Tech Marshall Ltd. has proven capabilities to provide very sophisticated fire suppression systems in locations with special hazards. Our people are factory-trained in the design, installation and service of these systems.

Water Based Fire Protection Systems

Water based firefighting systems utilize the inexpensive and readily available medium of water to discharge onto flames through a normally fixed piping system. There are 4 main types of Water based Protection Systems. The hazard / risk to be protected will determine the most suitable type of system you need.

WET PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS

Pressurized water resides in the pipe until a fire is detected by a heat-sensitive automatic sprinkler, which allows water to flow from the targeted sprinkler.

PREACTION SYSTEMS

Preaction systems are dry pipe sprinkler systems with pressurized air in their pipes and closed sprinkler heads.

DELUGE SYSTEMS

The deluge valve in a deluge system is tripped by the actuation of a detection system, which introduces water into the piping system.

DRY PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS

Dry pipe sprinklers are pressurized with air, which is released upon actuation of the sprinkler. There is a delay in the discharge of water while the pressurized air escapes from the system, upon which water flows into the piping system.

Aerosol System

Aerosol fire protection solutions are the easiest and the most contemporary way to prevent the hazards.

The system contains a solid forming compound, consisting mainly of Potassium salts with non-pyrotechnic materials. Upon activation, the aerosol compound transforms into a rapidly expanding highly efficient and effective fire suppression condensed aerosol that is distributed evenly in the protected enclosure using the momentum developed in the transformation process. In contrast to the traditional fire extinguishing methods (gaseous or fire sprinkler systems), the fire is extinguished predominately by interrupting the chemical chain reactions in the flame as per the tetrahedron of fire, without depleting oxygen. Furthermore, these systems are compatible with conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.

The system offers complete installation flexibility due to its standalone design and operation. No additional electrical or plumbing connections are required for operation, making this technology ideal for new construction.

Foam System

A foam-water system is a special system of pipe connected to a source of foam concentrate and to a water supply.

The system uses appropriate discharge devices to control and/or extinguish fires which require a smothering and cooling agent.

The technology contained in foam extinguishing systems is highly complex and can therefore rarely be summarized in just a few words. Extinguishing foam is essentially a mixture of water, foaming agent and air. The mixture ratio of these three substances is adapted depending on the application. The extinguishing effect comes from the heat-resistant foam forming a solid blanket over the flammable materials.

This creates a cooling, shielding and suppressive effect depending on the type of foam. The foam isolates the flames from the oxygen supply and suppresses the development of toxic flue gases. The chemical reaction for combustion is therefore halted and the flame is extinguished.

Stand Pipes System

When standpipes are fixed into buildings, the pipe is in place permanently with an intake usually located near a road or driveway, so that a fire engine can supply water to the system. The standpipe extends into the building to supply firefighting water to the interior of the structure via hose outlets.

Water Mist System

Water is converted into steam, which cools, wets and moves oxygen away from flames. The mist water droplets deplete the oxygen on the flame front, which in turn extinguishes the fire.

Water mist systems use low, medium or high pressure to discharge the mist. However, the results are very different in each case. High pressure delivers consistently, Better penetration into the seat of the fire, coverage of the protected area, cooling effect from higher evaporation rate, Lower overall system weight and less water consumption.​
